What you need:
2 oranges
Cloves and/or star anises
Ribbon
Method:
Slice your oranges about 1cm thick.
Place them between two sheets of kitchen paper and pat out most of the moisture.
Put them on the lowest heat in the oven for 6 hours, or, as I did, dehydrate them at 65C overnight.
If you want to decorate with star anise, try and plunge the star anise into the orange's centre before you put them in the oven. The cloves can be inserted after drying.
Make a small hole with a skewer and thread ribbon through. Tie and hang smugly.
