Teas to fight cancer

It has finally warmed up in Duderstadt, where I am enjoying a spot of medical tourism for a few days, from an Arctic 9 degrees to the 20s and now sufficiently warm for me to breakfast outside. Amongst the smorgasbord of sausages and sauerkraut, I managed to find some sencha green tea. đŸ”

Green tea has shown evidence in preventing malignancy, inhibiting metastasis and inducing apoptosis (cancer cell death) as per this research: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/28288025/

while sencha green tea may specifically be most relevant to bile duct cancer: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4724819/

☕ But in case you fear you need to substitute your crucial morning coffee with green tea, as I did ignorantly and tearfully 😱 for a year or so, there is actually evidence that coffee may be supportive for some cancers including liver, or at least not aggravate it: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/28288025/

☕ Coffee (bulletproof, naturally, and in accordance with a keto diet) therefore remains one of my first cups of the day (after the sodding hot water and lemon 🍋 to flush the system FFS) and once that and the green tea are out of the way, I can start brewing the mushroom variety 🍄 : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK424937/

If only it had other “magical” qualities... Fortunately, being British, I like to drink tea xxx
