Pictured above and below are seas of organic nasturtiums and rainbow chard growing in the gardens at Kadoorie Farm in Tai Po, which we visited with my kids and mother over Easter. Not a bad (half) day out while this barmy weather continues...
There are a few animals (reptiles, pigs, flamingoes) to look at, although don't think you are off to a Western style petting zoo.
Also good for young kids is the arts & craft centre where my 5 and 3 year olds spent a good half hour doing some activities under supervision from a teacher (and my mother). No drop off, in case you were feeling optimistic! There is also a nature trail, which looked fun but possibly better for older kids, plus we were time constrained.
Top tip 1. Ring to reserve a parking slot. We parked legally on the road but that might not have been possible during busier weekend periods. Call (852) 2483-7200 then press 1 > 1 > 6, from 9am to 5pm.
Top tip 2. Use a baby carrier. It's strictly pram UN-friendly. Luckily I took both and left my stroller at the entrance.
Anyone eaten in the veggie cafe there? We took a picnic and ate it on the picnic benches near the entrance...
